Whitehall Central School District announces that Elementary Principal Adriana Strong and Jr.-Sr. High School Principal Ethan Burgess have submitted their resignations for personal reasons, effective at the conclusion of the current school year.

“We appreciate the time, dedication, and leadership that Adriana and Ethan have provided to our students, staff, and school community during their service to the district,” said district leadership. “Their efforts have contributed to the growth and success of their respective buildings, and we wish them both the very best in their future endeavors.”

To ensure a smooth transition and continued strong leadership for the upcoming school year, the District has appointed John Godfrey as Interim Elementary Principal and Doug Duell as Interim Jr.-Sr. High School Principal for the 2026–2027 school year.

Mr. Godfrey brings extensive experience in educational leadership, having served in roles as both a building principal and superintendent of schools. Mr. Duell is a highly respected educational leader with many years of experience serving as a high school principal.

The incoming Superintendent of Schools, in collaboration with the Board of Education, will begin a formal search process for permanent replacements following the start of the new school year.

“The Board of Education has every confidence that Mr. Godfrey and Mr. Duell will provide strong leadership and continue moving their respective buildings forward during the upcoming school year,” district officials added.

Additional information regarding the search process will be shared with the school community as it becomes available.
