Memo from the Superintendent - 02/02/2026

Posted Date: 02/02/26 (11:14 AM)

I am certain that you are aware that student SAFETY is our first priority. As such, I wanted you to be aware of an incident that we were made aware of today. This morning, we received a report from a student about a possible threat against the Whitehall Jr./Sr. High School that had been sent over "snapchat" by a student in another district. In cooperation with the Washington County Police, a report was made and police dispatched to the student's home.

We have taken all the necessary steps and procedures to address the situation and the individual who made the threat. This includes contact with Law enforcement as well as administration of the neighboring school.

I would like to thank the Washington County Police for their immediate response and investigation as well as working with our administrative team to investigate this threat so quickly and thoroughly.

I would also like to thank the students who shared what they heard so this could be addressed. As always, we encourage our community and our students: "If you See Something or if you Hear Something, Say Something."

Working together, the school and community can help to provide the safest learning environment for our children.

Patrick Dee
Superintendent of Schools
