About The District
The Whitehall Central School District is a hidden treasure, located in a valley at the southern part of Lake Champlain. Surrounded by a golf course and gorgeous mountain vistas, the campus serves approximately 679 students from pre-kindergarten through grade 12. It is also home to one of four Washington County Head Start programs for preschool age students.
The district encompasses 120.36 square miles of land area and 4.64 square miles of water area. It is comprised of five towns: Whitehall, Dresden, Hampton, and parts of Granville and Fort Ann. The western part of the district is in the Adirondack Park, while the northern and eastern portions border Vermont.
The district has two school buildings and a bus garage. The Junior-Senior High School was constructed in 1963 and serves students in grades 7-12. The Elementary School was built in 1968 and serves pre-kindergarten through grade 6.
