Whitehall Elementary is excited to launch this year’s Pick A Reading Partner (PARP) program, encouraging students and families to develop a love for reading! This year’s theme, “Read Like a Reptile: Slither into a Good Book,” reminds students that reading can happen anywhere—whether it’s a book, a recipe, a magazine, or even a cereal box!
From March 7 to March 28, students are challenged to read at least 20 minutes a day, five days a week with a reading partner. This could be a parent, sibling, friend, pet, or even a stuffed animal!
How to Participate:
- Read for at least 20 minutes a day, five days a week.
- Complete weekly reading challenges for extra fun!
- Turn in reading logs every Friday for a chance to win a $10 Scholastic Book Fair gift certificate (redeemable in May)!
- Complete all three weeks of reading to be entered into a Grand Prize drawing for a $50 gift card!

- March 14 – “READ ME” Day: Wear a shirt with words on it!
- March 21 – Pajama Day! Wear your coziest PJs and enjoy milk and cookies at school!
- March 31 – Special reptile encounter with Uncharted Wild LLC to celebrate our readers!
