We Need Your Help!
The Whitehall Central School District Board of Education is currently in the process of soliciting candidates for the position of Superintendent of Schools. Semi-finalists will be invited to Whitehall in mid-March for extensive interviews with two advisory committees composed of multiple stakeholders. Each Advisory Committee will have the following composition: two administrators, two members of the teachers’ association, two members of the CSEA, two members of the PTA, two community members, and two students for a total of 24 individuals; 12 per each Advisory Committee.
In order to properly represent the entire community, the Board is attempting to recruit community members who do not currently have a child in the school district (community members with children are encouraged to participate as a parent representative). If you are interested in participating, please contact Heather Morcombe by Friday, February 14, 2025 at [email protected] or by phone at (518) 499-1772, x 2020. Prospective committee members must reside in the Whitehall Central School District. In the event that there are more than four community members who volunteer to serve on the Advisory Committees, participants will be chosen by lottery.
The charge to each Advisory Committee is to:
- appoint co-chairs
- interview all semi-finalists
- assess the strengths and weaknesses of each of the candidates and report back to the Board verbally and in writing
The Advisory Committees are scheduled to meet on the following dates:
- Monday, March 10, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Jr/Sr High School LGI with WSWHE BOCES Senior Executive Officer, Tony Muller, to review interview protocol and develop interview questions.
- Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 9:00 AM to approximately 2:30 PM to interview semi-finalists.
- The evening of Thursday, March 13, 2025 with the Board of Education to report the committees’ findings to the Board
Please be advised that attendance at these sessions is mandatory to ensure a consistent and fair interview for the selected candidates.
If you have any questions regarding any part of this process, please feel free to contact WSWHE BOCES District Superintendent Dr. Turina Parker at (518) 746-3310, Ext. 9.
