Whitehall Community Invited To Help Support Project: Cameron's Story

Members of the community are invited to help Whitehall students in their efforts to support Project: Cameron’s Story by purchasing a new book to be donated.

Project: Cameron’s Story was named for Cameron Quartiers, an inspirational little boy who was born prematurely and proved bonding through the familiarization of a parents' voice can have a tremendous effect on a family’s ability to bond in the most difficult circumstances. Often, premature babies are too fragile to be held or even touched, and reading aloud to them is the only option to bond. Through storytelling, families are empowered to form a unique and profound connection with their babies. Project: Cameron Story helps create this connection by providing families with brand new, quality children’s books in their hands.

Through the efforts of Project: Cameron’s Story, and generous donations from individuals, each family in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Albany Medical Center, St. Peter’s Hospital, Stony Brook Hospital, Crouse Hospital (Syracuse), Golisano Children’s Hospital, UHS Wilson Medical Center, Bellevue Women’s Center, NY Presbyterian Stanley Morgan Hospital, NY Presbyterian Weil Cornell, John R. Oishei Children's Hospital, Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, North Shore Hospital, Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital, Mount Sinai West Children’s Hospital, Flushing Medical Center, Vassar Brothers Medical Center, HCH at NYU Langone, as well as the Special Care Unit at Glens Falls Hospital receives a book to read to their baby.

Now through Monday, February 23, 2023, brand new books can be purchased online in support of Project” Cameron’s Story. Whitehall faculty, staff, students, and community members are invited to show their support of this 501(c)3 children’s charity organization.
