Students in Mr. Joseph Graney's technology class was challenged to design and build a hovercraft. Throughout the process they learned how to calculate speed and how to reduce friction. One of the examples they referred to while building their crafts was the air hockey puck. Their finished projects are approximately 4 feet in diameter and are powered by a shop vacuum. They put their hovercrafts to the test by racing each other in the gym.
