Students "Read For The Record"

Students in the elementary and jr./sr. high school recently participated in “Read For The Record” day. This event brings together 2 million readers to share the same book in the classrooms in hopes of setting a world record.

This year’s theme was “Dreaming Big” and the featured book was “Nigel and the Moon” written by Antwan Eady and illustrated by Gracey Zhang. Members of the high school’s English Honor Society read to the elementary students and then led them in activity in exploring what they want to be when they grow up.

In addition to Whitehall students being part of a worldwide movement, it was a great opportunity for the high school students to exercise their leadership skills and serve as role models to the younger students.
